Real coil spring mattress!
Single twin 39" size!
Made in Canada!
Not cheapo imports!
Not cheapo 3" foam mattress,
but real 6" innerspring coil mattress.
We sold cheap thin foam mattresses
at one time, and they were more
trouble than they were worth.
$99
The best prices on mattresses in Truro and area!
We're quite confident that you won't find better prices if you drive all the way to the city, too!
We offer Canadian-made mattresses, not cheap imports, from $99. Believe it or not, all of our mattresses are made in the Maritimes. We've been selling Maritime-made mattresses for 25 years. We buy from two Maritime manufacturers: Sommex and MacGregor. Both companies have huge factories which employ many of our fellow Maritimers.
We don't sell imported mattresses because we don't believe they are built to the same standards as Canadian-made mattresses.
Once in a while, a customer tells us that our competition says, "Be careful. You get what you pay for!" Well, that might be the case at their stores, but not at Subway Furniture, where you get more than you pay for! We have lower prices for a reason; we simply have lower operating costs:
minimal staff, limited open hours, limited heated space, minimal advertising, etc.
A mattress set which we sell for $399 would sell for $599 at a big, fancy, expensive store.

PREVENT BEDBUGS! Beware of stores which sell used mattresses, rent mattresses, or offer comfort guarantees!
Thinking of buying a used mattress or renting pre-used upholstered furniture or mattresses?
*** Beware of bedbugs!***
Used mattresses and upholstered furniture may be infested with bedbugs. Bedbugs are a problem in Truro, as in many communities.
The only way to ensure that you buy a bedbug-free mattress is to buy a brand new mattress! For this reason, WE DO NOT SELL USED MATTRESSES! Even if you are buying a new mattress, it's good to know if the store sells used mattresses too, because bedbugs travel and it is possible for an infested used mattress to contaminate a nearby new one! If a store sells used mattresses, bedbug eggs can contaminate the delivery vehicle, the store, and workers' clothing!
Also,if you are thinking of renting upholstered furniture or mattresses, make sure they have never been previously used, as bedbug eggs can lay dormant for months. If you are renting a pre-used sofa or mattress, get a "no-bedbug" moneyback guarantee in writing from the vendor. If a store rents pre-used mattresses or furniture, bedbug eggs can contaminate the delivery vehicle, the store, and workers' clothing!
Beware of stores which offer "comfort guarantees" for their mattresses. When a store has a comfort guarantee, it means that customers can bring mattresses back after using them for 30, 60, or even 90 days! Up to 90 days of human skin debris and the parasites that feed on it, bacteria, various bodily fluids, and possibly bed bugs.
UUGGGHHHH!
What do stores do with these brand new mattresses which have been used for only a short time and which look "like new"? Well, that's a good question. Maybe you should ask them. Do they just throw away these expensive mattresses? Do they spend big money to resanitize them? Do they just say the heck with it and put them back on the salesfloor? Good questions, eh? If a store offers a mattress comfort guarantee, bedbug eggs can contaminate the delivery vehicle, the store, and workers' clothing!
Subway Discount Furniture does not have a mattress comfort guarantee, but your are encouraged to try out our mattresses here at the store for as long as it takes to decide on one that's right for you!
Some mattress industry insiders have speculated that the relatively new practice of offering a "comfort guarantee" is contributing to the bedbug resurgence in North America.
When you buy a new mattress, make sure you're getting a factory-sealed set. Mattress plastic is heat-sealed. Factories don't use packing tape. If you see transparent packing tape on mattress packaging, it usually means it's been opened and then taped closed again.
Customers ask us all the time if we can "take away their old mattress" when we deliver a new one. We're sorry, but because of the possible risk of bedbug contamination, we feel it is irresponsible, as a seller of new mattresses, to take away old mattresses for customers.
