Mindy was surrendered by a family who moved into an apartment and could not bring her.
Mindy has a lot of great qualities but will need some serious training. Mandatory obedience is required for adoption to ensure she is not returned. Mindy is a 8-10 yr and older home only as she shows resource guarding tendencies.
Below are a list of Mindy's pros and cons.
PROS:
- Very affectionate, loves a good snuggle
- Loves to play!
- Doesn't bark often
- Is crate trained
- Travels well in the car. Lays down.
- Walks fairly well on leash, not much pulling
- Loves to play in water
- Doesn't mind being handled, but hates to be retrained
CONS:
- Jumps up - would knock over a small child
- Resource Guards - Shows resource guarding to different people. Will block food bowl with body - moves away.
- Needs work on recall
- Cannot be left alone uncrated - will chew anything in sight
- Inhales food
- High anxiety - shown through panting and chewing
